River gush Floats

Lambagohan Fluvial Festival glided again this year for Kagay-anons and tourists despite from the threats received from the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) rebels saying they will be planting bombs on the said event.

Bunch of kids and adults rushed to see the floats as early as 7 a.m. aligning over the bridges while others chose to ride in bancas for rent to get a better view of the parade.

Dancers from participating barangays shouted out “Viva Senior San Agustin!” in honor for the patron saint of the city.

In addition for the traditional fiesta celebration of St. Augustine, Barangays Nazareth, Bonbon, Bulua, Gusa, Kauswagan, Consolacion, Bayabas, Lapasan and Macabalan boasted their decorated bancas in the fluvial parade, each competing for the P125, 000.00 cash prize.

The renowned giant gold fish of Barangay Lapasan victoriously attained the top prize while Barangays Gusa and Bayabas placed second and third, respectively.

Traffic was patiently controlled by traffic aides all over Maharlika Bridge to avoid accidents and roaring cars passing by.
